Mr. and Mrs. Kovalev are rejoycing after hearing the news that their son has finally been found. Their son, Alex Kovalev, was reported missing sometime around July 6th, and was last seen in Montreal leading up to that fateful day. And although reports surfaced that Kovalev may be in Ottawa no conclusive sightings had ever been verified. The Kovalevs never gave up hope that their son would eventually turn up alive, and still skilled at hockey. However, the same could not be said for many Ottawa citizens, as one local resident expressed:
They say Alex Kovalev is here...but I haven't seen him yet. In fact, I seriously doubt that anyone will ever see him around here in Ottawa. It's tough. Especially not knowing. At least with Dany Heatley we knew he was gone...but with Kovalev, no one has any clue what has happened to him...no one can even be sure if he was ever here in the first place.
But just when finding Kovalev alive seemed completely hopeless, rare Kovalex sightings began showing. First, December 12th when Kovalev appeared to be spotted in the midst of a Hurricane of hats, then again a few weeks later also in the midst of more hats. The latter representing a break-through in this missing person case. Other, more minor sightings continued for the next three weeks, until today when Alex Kovalev was finally found.
Alex Kovalev is found alive and well...with a goal and assist in hand as he helped lead his team to a franchise record setting 9th straight victory. The Kovalevs and Ottawa Senator fans everywhere should be overwhelmed with happiness.
